BARROW, ULVERSTON & FURNESS

Barrow really is a perfect spot for all shops, manufacturers and trade suppliers in one fantastic location, together with the market towns of Ulverston and Dalton it offers a superb range of specialised shops offering famous brands.

Barrow town centre area is home to some high street names and complementing these are a myriad of local independent specialist shops to stop by and pick up a unique treat or two.

The surrounding town centre streets offer a wide variety of independent retailers offering exceptional value, variety and personal service. Cavendish Street and Scott Street is just perfect to seek out those exclusive designer labels and is the place to shop for that special gift or must have fashion item.

Surrounding the town centre are a variety of retail parks, giving the shoppers a truly upmarket shopping experience, with all the brand names you could expect to see in many of the larger cities.

Barrow Indoor Market undergoing an exciting full refurbishment, made possible by funding from the Levelling Up Fund. Currently trading from the existing Market, in June 2024 our traders will move to a new temporary location just next door to the Market in newly refurbished Mall and the Meat Market areas. With over 20 independent traders: stalls offering everything from fresh and cooked meats to Thai food, from jewellery and clothing, books, lingerie and fancy goods and so much more.

Just outside Barrow is the medieval market town of Dalton-in-Furness, the centre of which is designated as a conservation area, boasts a wide variety of independent specialist shops, with the village of Askam-in-Furness providing a quaint, much smaller shopping area.

 

KENDAL

Kendal is a picturesque and historic Lakeland market town with a wonderful reputation for shopping. Here you will find the finest in retail luxury, combined with some of the best locally produced gift items and homeware. At the very heart of Kendal is the only covered shopping centre in the South Lakes – Westmorland Shopping Centre. Notably, Kendal also offers three further fabulous unique shopping areas; Elephant Yard, Wainwrights Yard, Blackhall Yard, all offering everything from fashion to footwear and from beauty to jewellery and so much more.

GARSTANG

Garstang is a market town steeped in history and perfect for relaxed shopping trips, lazy picnics, teashop treats and traditional pub lunches.
The historic narrow alleyways and picturesque High Street, provide an interesting and unexpected selection of eclectic local shops, restaurants and cafes.

MORECAMBE

Whether you fancy a trip into Morecambe town centre, a shopping day down the promenade’s independent stores, a pop into the Arndale Morecambe Bay Shopping Centre or a visit to Morecambe’s Festival Indoor Market, there are hundreds of shops across Morecambe to visit. Put your feet up while enjoying Morecambe Bay’s famous potted shrimps; a delicacy not to be missed! Pop along to Princes Crescent in Bare and the village of Torrisholme where you find a quaint selection of shops or head up to Heysham Village. You will be spoilt for choice.

LANCASTER

The stunning city of Lancaster steeped in history really does offer an eclectic range in the way of retail excitement, with over 100 independent retailers, two superb shopping centres and the ever popular vibrant street market too. Major shopping destinations within the city include Marketgate Shopping Centre and St Nics Arcade, both of whom provide the best in high street brands, combined with some quite unique independents too. Marketgate Shopping Centre is a vibrant under cover retail centre in the heart of Lancaster’s historic, pedestrianised city centre. The 30,000 sq ft Primark store offers all the very latest in fashion for all the family, along with homeware and gifts too. Other national stores include the wonderful M&S, WH Smith, Bodycare, The Works and Waterstones. Alongside these great stores there are plenty of independent shops offering a wide range of services from gifts at Expressions, hair & beauty treatments from Rachel Anne and fresh local produce from Gregory Williams butchers are always a popular choice too! Your shopping experience wouldn’t be complete without a welcome break in Caffe Nero. The centre is accessible to all, with a 127 space secure, short-stay shoppers’ car & motorcycle park. THORNTON-CLEVELEYS

Cleveleys has a very busy shopping centre with bustling markets, exclusive shops and plenty of fun. Centred around Victoria Road West, shoppers will be kept busy in Cleveleys with market stalls and street stores stretching the length of the town. At nearby Thornton you will find a historic windmill at Marsh Mill-in-Wyre, which has been restored to its former glory. Visitors can take a guided tour to the top of the mill, or browse around the speciality shops in the surrounding village. With plenty of bargains there is something to suit all tastes and pockets.

FLEETWOOD

Fleetwood is a lovely relaxing place to shop, with a bounty of quality retail. The two main streets of Lord Street and Dock Street are conveniently close to each other, to make it a really attractive stroll through the variety of unique independent retailers and high street names. The trams, should you choose to take a ride on one, provide a nostalgic treat to this retail experience. Renowned throughout the UK, the traditional Fleetwood Market is a must with over 150 indoor and outdoor stalls. It’s a true shopper’s paradise and you’ll find a lovely mix of stalls including food, clothing and household goods – all at great prices!
