EDEN PROJECT MORECAMBE

For many years Morecambe has been one of Britain’s most popular tourist destinations, with visitors attracted to its stunning natural landscape. Eden Project Morecambe aims to re-imagine Morecambe as a seaside resort for the 21st Century, inspiring wonder and a connection with the natural world, drawing on the Eden Project’s focus on education, ecology and community.

Eden Project Morecambe will be a major new attraction in Morecambe, set to fully open in early 2027 following community-focussed test events in 2026. It will be a destination that combines indoor and outdoor experiences, connecting people with the internationally-significant natural environment of Morecambe Bay while also enhancing wellbeing.

The project has far-reaching environmental, social and economic ambitions, but above all it will be a day out that inspires a sense of wonder and connection with the natural world.

DOCK MUSEUM

Enjoy a wonderful historic family day out in Cumbria! Here at the multi award winning Dock Museum you can explore the fascinating history of Barrow-in-Furness. Discover how the 19th century hamlet became the Chicago of the north in the Victoria era to the world leading ship building area it is now. Enjoy various exhibitions including the Viking Gallery, the Ship Builders Gallery and the temporary exhibition floor. The Bridge cafe offers a tempting range of hot and cold snacks. To keep the little ones entertained, there’s a brilliant adventure playground too!

LAUREL & HARDY MUSEUM

The 1930’s Art Deco Roxy Cinema, in Ulverston, hosts an outstanding tribute to the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. The museum started life as one man’s collection stemming from his lifelong love for ‘The Boys’. From a few scrapbook collections, the museum transformed to a room packed with pictures, facts, and show tickets of the famous pair. The Roxy Cinema is also a fantastic place to get the 1930’s feel for an extraordinary cinema. Wander round the old cinema and read about the story and career of Laurel and Hardy.

LAKES AQUARIUM

At the Lakes Aquarium you can marvel at all things that swim, walk, climb, fly and bite! The aquarium allows people to observe the wonderful animals on display, including an incredible underwater tunnel looking at Carp, Pike, Brown Trout, Piranha and many more. As well as the famous Lakes Aquarium Otter shows which are held throughout the day, Lakes Aquarium offers various animals, including an open presentation of Leafcutter Ants which is a capturing attraction. End the tour with a browse in the gift shop and purchase some of the merchandise.

BOWLAND WILD BOAR PARK

Bowland Wild Boar Park is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic and take a ramble in the alluring woodland countryside.

We have on offer a fantastic range of activities for children of all ages. Animal petting is the most popular attraction followed by tractor barrel rides. Based in the heart of the forest we offer both an indoor and outdoor play area in the lovely Lancashire countryside.

Happy Mount Park is a really picturesque family friendly park that’s open all year round and free to visit. Summer time is the perfect time to experience a fabulous day out. The Splash Park is a fun packed venue on a hot sunny day for the kids, finished off with a 99 flake ice cream. INGLETON WATERFALLS

Some of the most spectacular waterfall and woodland scenery in the North of England, is located here at Ingleton Falls. Follow our well designated footpaths, close to the edge of two remarkable rivers, and see some of the Lake Districts most breath-taking views. Watch the underground streams and waterfalls whilst enjoying a captivating picnic. Not to forget White Scar Cave, the longest show cave in Britain. Experience a tour highlighting the history and events taking place here. End your visit with a treat from the local cafe and appreciate the fantastic natural landmarks. Dig out your walking boots and dive into adventure!

LASER RUSH

New Morecambe Laser Tag Site ‘LASER RUSH’, is the latest venture to open in the popular seaside town of Morecambe. The exciting laser tag venture will feature two battle zone grounds (Destination Apocalypse and Battle Barracks). The battle set-ups, feature really cool hiding places, mazes and scenery. The guns are the latest in laser technology and have some really awesome games such as
“Defend the Keep”, “Team Deathmatch” and “Domination.

Laser Rush has been built with a range of ages in mind, with the site set up for hosting parties and groups of all kinds, with a range of rooms and food options.

DALTON LEISURE CENTRE

Visit Dalton Leisure Centre with its amazing 16 fun features including a 20 metre warm water pool that includes overhead tipping buckets, spray rails, giant spraying snake, and interactive play panels. Also on offer are 2 glass back squash courts, and air conditioned gyms, with 14 spinning bikes. With a large outdoor soft play area to keep the kids actively entertained plus many more facilities suited to different ages and abilities.

FLEETWOOD MUSEUM

Visit Fleetwood Museum and explore the history and rich heritage, from its origins in the 19th century. The interactive museum allows 4-11 year olds to take part in arts and crafts as well as games and quizzes. The museum offers a range of talks about different historic events. FARMER PARRS

If ‘ewe’ like animals, ewe’ll love Farmer Parrs! Gallop on over for a MOO-vellous Family Day Out! A fab-ewe-lous animal farm with a museum, bistro and gift shop. Plus outdoor play areas, indoor picnic/bouncy castle barn, jumping pillow and indoor animal barns too. So there is plenty to do come rain or shine.

Take a trip down “Memory Lane” in the large and electric Fylde Country Life Museum. Or take a wander around the extensive paddocks, ponds and walkways – if ewe fancy a stroll. Daily events include farm tours, animal shows, tractor rides, pony rides and grooming, egg collecting, animal feeding and petting.

BROCKHOLE VISITORS CENTRE

On the shores of Lake Windermere you will find Brockhole Visitors Centre, which has loads to do outside and inside, including
an adventure playground for 5-14 year olds, indoor soft play, creativity space and extensive gardens and lakeshore. You will also find the amazing Treetop Trek with 35 Treetop challenges designed to make you swing, climb, balance, and fly through the ancient oak woodland canopy. You’ll be connected securely to a unique safety cable which fits all ages from 5 years and upwards. To top off the adventure you’ll be able to race against friends and family down our three parallel 250 metre zip wires taking in spectacular views of Lakeland fells and Lake Windermere.

INGLEBOROUGH CAVE & INGLEBOROUGH ESTATE NATURE TRAIL

Visit Ingleborough Cave & Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, on a dog friendly adventure that all the family can enjoy! Enjoy a scenic 1.3 mile woodland trail, before following in the footsteps of brave Victorian explorers by venturing 500 metres beneath Ingleborough mountain, on a journey of exploration and discovery in Ingleborough Cave. JUMP RUSH

Jump Rush is an exciting indoor trampoline park located in the heart of Morecambe. Friendly staff will greet you with a warm welcome and talk bouncers through rules and regulations. Leighton Hall

LEIGHTON HALL

Leighton Hall is the lived-in home of the Gillow furniture making family. There are no roped off areas and tours are entertaining and informal. Leighton is child friendly with space to play and let off steam. All visits include a guided house tour, a birds of prey flying display (weather permitting) and access to the gardens and grounds. There’s also time for refreshments in the charming tearoom.

LANCASTER LEISURE PARK

Whether you’re a collector, a bargain hunter or a food and drink enthusiast, a visit to Lancaster Leisure Park is a chance to truly indulge yourself.

Browse for hours at GB Antiques, the country’s biggest indoor antiques and furniture centre, take a guided tour at Lancaster Brewery, savour the delicious local produce available in Countrystyle Meats Farm Shop and bag a bargain at the Original Factory Shop.

Spread over 42 acres, the Leisure Park is also home to an ice cream parlour, micro brewery, visitor centre and beer garden, children’s indoor soft play area, and The Forest Garden.

Admission to the park, brewery and shops is free, but there is a small charge for the antiques centre, children’s play area and guided brewery tours. Free parking.

LAKELAND MAIZE MAZE & FARM PARK

There’s plenty to do here at the double award-winning farm park. With large, and mini mazes to complete, Lakeland Maize Maze and Farm Park is open in the summer months, giving children the opportunity to work with the farm animals and experience tractor rides.

The farm is one of the main attractions and continues to be every summer. An a-maze-ing selection of mazes ready to be completed.

WINDERMERE LAKE CRUISES

Experience the finest views from England’s longest lake. Viewing stunning mountain scenery, secluded bays, and woodland islands. Windermere Lake Cruises offers a selection of different cruises with fantastic commentary throughout: Island cruises are a lovely way to admire the Lake and capture some beautiful memories.

The Yellow Cruise runs from Bowness to Lakeside. Combine this cruise with the Motor Museum experience and look at some of the most vintage and unique cars in the UK. The Red Cruise, running from Bowness to Ambleside would be the perfect opportunity to stop and explore Ambleside, experiencing some of the local businesses, and amazing range of restaurants, cafes and shops.

If a cruise isn’t what you fancy, perhaps a self drive boat? These boats are a seasonal offer, from Easter until November.

LAKELAND MOTOR MUSEUM

This 50 years of history museum is a unique way to experience road transport through the ages. Feast your eyes on an exclusive collection of over 30,000 exhibitions on display in a fully DDA compliant state-of-the-art premises with a beautiful riverside setting. The Motor Museum includes famous Campbell Bluebird Displays, with realistic mannequins, capturing pictures and facts.

LAKELAND WILDLIFE OASIS

Perfect for families, the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis is an all weather attraction combining lush tropical halls with outdoor animal enclosures with over 100 species of insects, fish, birds, reptiles and mammals. Discover free flying birds, butterflies and bats. Inspect the furry fossas. Meet a meerkat and see breath-taking snow leopards. There’s a café, conservatory, indoor and outdoor seating and a sand area for children to let off steam.

GIGGLES PLAY & ADVENTURE

Based at Lancaster Leisure Park, Giggles has something for all ages ranging from birth through to 12. There is a ball pool, tunnels, slides, rope climbs, indoor children’s karting and a separate play area for the little ones! RAVENGLASS & ESKDALE RAILWAY

For an immersive railway experience don’t miss ‘La’al Ratty’ at Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Which runs for seven-miles from the coastal village of Ravenglass through two of Lakeland’s loveliest valleys, to Dalegarth station and visitor centre in Eskdale, a very popular venue for tourism in the heart of the valley.

LANCASTER WALL

Lancaster Wall is one of the largest dedicated bouldering centre in the North. Situated close to the M6, the centre offers kids clubs, adult introductory sessions as well as a huge variety of bouldering for the more experienced climber. SKIPTON CASTLE

Just a short drive from Morecambe Bay is Skipton Castle.Over 900 years old, it is one of the most complete and best-preserved medieval castles in England and is well worth a visit at any season of the year.

Visitors can explore every corner of this impressive history-rich castle, which withstood a three-year siege during the Civil War. View the Banqueting Hall, the Kitchen, the Bedchamber and Privy. Climb from the depths of the Dungeon to the top storey of the Watch Tower.

Imagine what life was like when Skipton Castle provided protection and security from invaders. Relax in the picnic area or in the new tearoom or visit the shop for more information.

LANCASTER CITY MUSEUM

The quirky little city museum shows you how Lancaster has developed over the years. With a vast array of fascinating exhibits and displays, Lancaster Museum can give you a real blast from the past. Offering a selection of gifts in the gift shop, treat yourself to a souvenir to remember your visit.

SOUTH LAKES SAFARI ZOO

South Lakes Safari Zoo is home to over 1,000 of the rarest and most endangered animals in unique natural environments which enable you to get as close as physically possible to experience the amazing creatures with which we share our planet. Wander amongst kangaroos, wallabies, and emus. Be amazed as free-flying macaws soar overhead. Participate in animal feeding experiences or be a zookeeper for a day.

GLEASTON WATER MILL

A substantial water powered corn mill with the last major site improvements made the 1770s.

The mill and adjacent buildings
have been restored by the owners, Mike & Vicky Brereton, to provide access to a fascinating heritage museum, tea rooms, gift shop and a converted pig sty – now a comfortable holiday cottage.

Characteristic of the Cumbria rural landscape, this imposing watermill and site has been part of the local traditions for over 600 years. Located close to the ruins of Gleaston Castle, the mill was first used in the 1300s. Visitors to the mill can see the 18ft water wheel, impressive wooden machinery and many displays and artefacts.

FORD PARK

Explore the Wildlife and Nature Trail or just enjoy our natural, accessible playground with pendulum swings and more. Take a trip up nearby Hoad Hill to see the spectacular Hoad Monument, and soak in the stunning views over Ulverston, the fells of the Lakes, and over the Bay. The memorable monument could be a perfect walk for families or couples to make fantastic memories. Find out about the history of Hoad and take a trip inside the Bee Hive, where craft goods and plants are available to purchase. Finish the walk off with some food and drink at the Base Restaurant and have a browse at the exquisite flower gardens.

THE CENTRE AT HALTON

The Centre at Halton is an excellent and accessible location for kids of all ages. For teenagers with a passion for skating, this is a first-rate place! Open 7 days a week the Centre at Halton is free of charge and offers fantastic opportunities. THE WORLD OF BEATRIX POTTER

The World of Beatrix Potter is a vibrant family and global attraction, that brings to life all 23 enchanting Beatrix Potter stories in a magical recreation of the beautiful Lake District countryside.
