Leonard Cheshire Disability’s Tri Together team are inviting those who are new to triathlon, or want to try out the sport, to take part in free taster sessions at Salt Ayre Sports Centre in Lancaster.

The taster sessions are being held to help people to find out more about the sport and help new sign-ups to prepare for the charity’s signature event, Tri Together. The triathlons are being held on 7 July at the Salt Ayre Sports Centre in Lancaster and 1 September at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London.

Tri Together is an accessible, short distance triathlon for people of all ages and abilities to swim, bike and run together. To meet popular demand, Leonard Cheshire Disability has also lowered the entry age so children from the age of eight can now sign up for one of the five junior races.

The taster sessions are an excellent opportunity for beginners to get free one-to-one advice and coaching and try out the swim, cycle and run route ahead of the event.

Triathlon coaches from COLT, Manchester Tri Club, Crystal Palace Triathletes and Jet Stream Tri Club will be providing expert advice on all aspects from the swim to transition and Swim for Tri will be on hand at the London sessions to give specialist swim advice in the pool.

Cycling Projects will also be providing sports wheelchairs and alternative cycles such as recumbent trikes, hand cycles and tandem bicycles, to disabled people, free of charge.

There are a limited number of places available at each taster session so to register email or visit The tasters are free but do require a deposit of £5. Payments will only be taken if you register and do not attend.
