Whether it’s planning the route, finding the pitch or encouraging people to take part – sport doesn’t just happen, it needs people to make it happen. Become one of 40,000 Sport Makers and you’ll not only get the skills, knowledge and opportunities you need to get more people playing sport, you’ll become part of the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sports legacy.

Examples of a Sport Maker include:
• Someone who helps a club organise additional activity such as taster days or come and try sessions
• Parents who usually just sit watching their children participate in the activities
• Someone who support events to increase the numbers participating
• Someone who organises a five a side team
• Someone who takes their colleagues along to a Zumba class

For more information please visit www.sportmakers.co.uk and come along to our convention at the new Lancaster University Sports Centre, Lancaster, LA1 4 on Saturday 4 February 11am to 1.30pm.

Through this you can:
• register your interest as a Sport Maker
• book on a training event to get you started as a Sport maker
• register any opportunities your club/community organisation have for Sport Makers to get involved in your club

Sport Makers will receive a Sport Makers Adidas polo shirt and sports bag and if they complete 10 hours volunteering, logged on the web-site by 1st May 2012 will be entered in a ballot to win a ticket to the Olympics and a ticket for one accompanying person ( who does not need to be a Sports Maker.)
We look forward to seeing you at Lancaster University on Saturday 4 February.
