RSPB Moorland Walk *CANCELLED*

- January 10th, 2020

June 20, 2020 @ 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
Clitheroe BB7 3EP

*CANCELLED*Join us for a walk along one of the Forest of Bowland’s most stunning valleys. Take this opportunity to learn more about the international importance of the area for birds of prey and the rare upland habitat they call home during the spring and summer.
Birds to look out for include the ring ouzel, a regular breeder in the valley, our smallest bird of prey the merlin and, if you’re lucky, you may be rewarded with a sighting of England’s rarest bird of prey, and emblem of the AONB, the hen harrier.
The distance of the walk is approximately four kilometres along a rough track and participants should be properly equipped for a walk in upland conditions: warm and waterproof clothing and footwear, food and water, and maybe even sun block. Please bring binoculars (and a telescope would be useful if you have one).
Suitable for accompanied children of 10 years and over. As parking is limited at the start of the walk we will meet in the Slaidburn pay and display car park and then a few cars will head up to where we will start walking from. Please do not pay for parking until we have organised cars.

Booking essential. Please contact Marie Stawarski at the RSPB office on or phone 01524 581001.

 £8 (RSPB members)/£10 (non-members), terrain guide 3, 3 miles approx

(Note: map may not show exact event location. Check with organiser on booking.)
