Train to be a lifeguard and get a nationally recognised qualification that will help you secure a career in the leisure and hospitality industry. This 6 day course based at Salt Ayre Sports Centre, Lancaster will teach you:

The principles of lifesaving and swimming supervision
* Rescue techniques
* Incident management
* First aid
* General anatomy
* How to lifeguard

The application of supervision and rescue in a swimming pool
* Health and safety
* The working environment
* How a swimming pool operates

What you will need to join this course:
* All candidates must be 16 years of age or over
* Be able to swim 100 metres on their front,
* Be able to swim 100 metres on their back without stopping
* Swim 50 metres in under 1 minute
* Tread water for 2 minutes
* Surface dive to 2m deep and then climb out unaided
(we can arrange a swim test if you are unsure of your swimming ability)

Important information
* Qualification is gained upon completion of all 6 dates from 13 to 18 February
* Sessions last from 8:30am to 5.30pm each day
* Places are reserved on a first come, first served basis
* The cost of the course is £260 and includes all tuition, course manual, assessment fee and certificates.
