Everyone can help with the 2015 Big Garden Bird Watch at Williamson Park

If you are an early riser, come along between 8 and 9 am for bird spotting with the experts. “This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Park’s birds with members of the local bird watching groups”, said Hilary Smith of Friends of Williamson Park who are organising the event. “We will be meeting at the bird feeding station in Fenham Carr at 8.00 am to get a close look at the birds using the feeders. This will be followed by an hour long walk around the Park.”

If you prefer a more leisurely Sunday morning, come to the Café in the Park after 10 am and collect a survey form and information sheet from the display, and do your own survey.

Last year 18 different species of birds were seen in an hour including a grey wagtail, gold crest and bullfinch. We want to see if we can beat that count!
