Then inside The Storey for reflections and performances, including music written and performed by young people from More Music and speech from Diana Zwibach.
It’s a time for everyone to pause to remember the millions of people who have been murdered or whose lives have been changed beyond recognition during the Holocaust, Nazi persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
Lancaster will also host other events to commemorate the Holocaust:
Sunday 18th January. A Diversity Tour from the Jewish Rooms at Lancaster University to the Mosque and finally joining the women’s multi faith group East meets West at Lancaster Library.
Saturday 24th January Havdalah marking the end of the Jewish Sabbath and a cultural sharing – Keeping Memories Alive on.
Monday 26th January to Sunday 1st February. An exhibition by Diana Zwibach at the Dukes Theatre.
Wednesday 28th January. A showing of the Hitchcock documentary Night fall at the Dukes Cinema.
