The first of three ‘talks and walks’ organised in the AONB
this year. This talk is by Paul Kabrna, local geologist and
author of ‘Carboniferous Geology: Bowland Fells to Pendle
Hill’. Focussing on the Bowland area, his talk will reveal
recent developments in Carboniferous geology some 340
million years ago. This period of time was characterised by
a tropical climate, muddy seas and big rivers. There will be
an opportunity for discussion and refreshments and to
purchase Paul’s book. Suitable for children 14 years and
over if accompanied by an adult. Contributions to
Bowland Tourism Environment Fund welcome.
This event links with a field trip on Saturday 17th March.
