Join the Friends of Bowland’s, Martin Charlesworth, for an illustrated talk celebrating local apples!
Martin’s wide ranging presentation will cover religion, myth & folklore, an exploration of the decline of traditional orchards, plus commercial growing and supply.
The session will also feature video contributions from Phil Rainford, of the Northern Fruit Group, and local farmer and historian, Muriel Lord. Phil will talk about “lost” local varieties and his passion to rediscover them, whilst Muriel will share stories about the apples in her Bowland garden.
The event will be hosted as a live Zoom session on Saturday 17th October and then repeated on Wednesday 21st October.
Cost: Both events are free but donations to the Friends of Bowland are welcome.
