Mirador’s heritage and arts programme, Behind The Wall, is a colourful story which reveals the remarkable history of the Lancaster textile empire, Standfast & Barracks site in Lancaster.
But this is no ordinary exhibition. In an unusual move, Mirador, a new Lancaster-based arts and heritage company, has attracted some of the country’s most creative minds to bring the Caton Road site’s story to life – from its birth as a carriage and wagon works and its role as an internment camp in World War One to its nine decades as an international fabric printing company.
Associated events include a lunchtime talk on March 10 and walking tour of the exhibition on April 7 (both at 1pm and free but must be booked in advance on 01524 64637), and a free drop in family workshop with Bonker*s & Clutterbucks on March 25 from 11am-3pm.
