Fifteen British artists were despatched to the 28 different countries that make up the European Union with the brief to make friends with a European and to paint their portrait. The subjects were offered the chance to represent their country and in this way to become something of a Euro star.
Alongside the exhibition the University of Lancaster will be holding seminars and discussions on various aspects of European culture
