Introducing a new series of artwork from visual artist Jenny Drinkwater including photography, painting and mixed-media assemblage using the landscape as the basis for her investigations.
Her work considers notions that we are surrounded by an invisible landscape of spaces, colour, light, sound, movement and temperature. Therefore the different strands of her practise address the ongoing dialogues we have with our immediate environment, and asks questions about how we are shaping and interpreting it.
Creating intriguing sculptural installations to additionally exaggerate the effect of ‘what is a landscape’, the artist asks questions about authenticity. Is it real or artificial? What is natural anymore?
Through personal intuition, expressive mark making and painterly improvisation, the artist’s work experiments with the layering of forms and pattern alongside mixed-media materials. Often, we don’t seem to recognise that the landscape is made up of different terrains and is specially constructed.
Enjoy her fantastic new art installation titled ‘Fake Scape’ where the artist has built a conceptual view of a re-constructed landscape using elements from the natural and urban worlds. www.jennydrinkwater.co.uk
