Bay Tourism Association

Tonight Greg Lambert will be joined by Mark Prada chairman of the Bay Tourism Association to talk about all things tourism in the Lancaster and Morecambe district.

Mark's family name has quite a history in Morecambe so we'll be hearing all about that, as well as his views on the proposed Eden project and how that might boost visitor numbers to the area. Tune in to The Resident from 6pm!

How would you boost tourism in Morecambe, Lancaster and the surrounding area? Let's hear your views!

What would be the impact of a walking and cycling route alongside Arnside viaduct? Today we've been awarded £50K to test this out.
It could link Grange to Arnside along the Bay Cycle Way and English Coastal Path. Would it bring more visitors that spend more and travel sustainably or would it be a menace. How could visitors be managed? What would it cost? Would there be more positives than negatives? These and more questions will be tested.
The idea comes from the local community. 10 years ago the tradition of walking across the viaduct on Christmas Day was stopped for safety reasons. Network Rail have supported initial feasibility and will work with us and other partners to evaluate and test the route, economic impact and costs. https://www.morecambebay.org.uk/news/%C2%A350000-award-test-cycle-and-walkway-along-arnside-viaduct
